Too Much Information For Me

"Sick Sick Sick"!!!

That's the theme for this family right now. BrokeBack...not because of "The Hot" reason...constant vomitting, high fever, runny noses, sore throats. Those have been the symtoms here. A "Not-So-Good" status.

If anyone were wanting to come over and visit, there would be a huge sign painted...black with a skull and crossbones, warning them of the dangerous germs and possible contagion that they would be inviting into their lives.

Why is it that this time of year always invites unhealthy conditions, even with all the fresh fruits and vegetable and vitamins that we shove down our throats, the acid and infections seem to take control and throw all of that good stuff right back up and at such a violent rate!!!

This was the case with Grace last night. Now, please keep in mind that she was already sick and vomitting on New Years Eve...and what a way to ring in the New Year. This continued into the early morning and throughout the day. "It has to run it's course", I told her when she asked me, "how long am I going to feel like this"???

With a bottle of Ematrol...for the nausea...and lots of Gatorade...for the replenishing of valuable hydration...and rolls and rolls of toilet paper...for the blowing of the clogged nose...finally the nastiness was gone...for three days that is. Yes Yes I know...you say something like "Oh My God"!!! I know, me too..."OH MY GOD!!! Grace what's going on in that teeny tiny belly of yours"???

This time she didn't even make it to the bathroom. The carpet and parquet floor received a new and exciting form of decoration!!! Huge THANKS to Nick who cleaned up the HUGE mess without gripe or complaint, while I tried to hold Grace's hair from getting involved in all the spraying of nastiness...alas though my attempts failed and the hair became contaminated. I pretty much just stood around and offered her comfort since I couldn't bend over and help her out because of my ailing back.

After everyone was finally cleaned up and settled down I went to the kitchen and got our infamous BARF BOWL that we use to put by one of the family members while they are sick throughout the night and can't quite make it to the bathroom. You know, to avoid cleaning up stinky nasty messes that never seem to go away and always leave some kind of odd smell to the room.

This BARF BOWL holds many special memories for me. This was the bowl that my mom used when I was a child. I remember the first time that I used the bowl...I was probably 7 years old and had a homemade stew for dinner that night. Well during the night as my stomach rumbled and tumbled, my mom brought in this HUGE bowl to put right beside me. That I might use it instead of making a big mess. I remember the bowl being so big, cause it seemed to swallow my head as I was spewing all of my unchewed chunks into it's belly!!!

Ah yes...this bowl has kept so many of us company throughout our nights of fits and covulsions...dad, mom, my brothers, Amanda-Jayne, Grace, Boogie, myself. It's been a constant companion through the years and continues to weather all that regurgitated goo. It's a strong, sturdy, trust-worthy friend to help weather those rough nites.

A wonderful heirloom!!!

...with a careless memory
jake...woooooooooooooooooooooooooossshhh!!!
