Ok Go Off And Wander...

It's such a wonderful thing what I did...I looked into my crystal ball and saw certain disaster in our future, if we didn't head out for Livingstone!!!

Tuesday AM:
I take a visit to Cafe Jake with my morning coffee and my copy of "Merrick" by Anne Rice. I begin reading when Boogie and Grace show up...we talk and have coffee...we're thinking about moving up North, we're trying to decide where we would like to venture off to. I'd like to go to Canada...but I can't convince the rest of the family to see it my way. Nich would like to venture up to Colorado...and actually I wouldn't mind that myself...so right now, our sights are set on Colorado...Denver or Boulder...Colorado ranks at the top of our list...until I can persuade them that Montreal is Supreme!!!

Noonish...the vampires Nich and Amanda-Jayne arise and begin cooking a very late breakfast...they spend at least an hour trying to get everything together...little do they know that we have all had breakfast since we woke up three hours prior to their awakening. They finally show up at the cafe and we have chit chat over biscuits, gravy and eggs. We explore our spontaneous bones and decide to get away for the day and go to Livingstone to see our little baby who is in obedience school right now. We shower, shave and head out the door.

15:00
We're speeding off down the freeway headed north singing to Guns and Roses, The Eagles, The Cars, Queen, The Beatles...enjoying the fresh HOTTT air when suddenly the darkness starts appearing to our left...you could literally smell the rain approaching...it was magnificent. We enjoyed the 9 minutes of rain that poured down...and we continued on our merry way. We reached boot camp and Diego greeted us with open paws...he was SO glad to see us and we were glad to see him too. We visited with Drill sergeant Sarah. She made us a couple of drinks...we headed down to the lake...took the pups out into the water and just spent some good time chatting.

17:00
Aunt Mergatroid calls up and says a TORNADO has blown through our neighborhood..."No Way", we say. But still, she insists, "There are trees down all over the place, the power is out...it's BAD". We tell her to keep us posted and let us know if anything else goes on. She calls back about an hour later and says it's bad all over our neighborhood...trees have been uprooted and flung through houses and all over power lines and roads. We were still surprised at the news...the day was hot when we left and the sun was shining...there was no forecast of bad weather approaching...and we only experienced a little bit of rain on the way to Livingstone...sure, she HAD to be exaggerating!!!

19:45
We pull up into the neighborhood slowly...oh so slowly...and see the massive trees that have literally been uprooted along with huge pieces of driveway concrete...all fallen on top of houses, cars, garages and into the neighborhood streets. It literally looks like a tornado came through and had it's way with the neighbors homes. Fortunately for us, our back yard fence was the only thing effected...and it wasn't even that bad.

22:00
We turn on channel 11 news and there is Shern-Min Chow in our neighborhood with one of the houses new accessories...a massive uprooted tree...laying smack dab in the middle of their house.

We haven't even had our first Hurricane of the season yet...and a tiny storm that lasted probably 20 minutes did more damage then last years life threatening Katrina...this could have been her ghost coming to haunt us...oooh!!!

If you've done nothing wrong...you've got nothing to fear!!!

...with a careless memory
jake...woooooooooooooooooooooooossshhh!!!

What a fantastic occurrence! As I said in my email, I'm glad that no one was hurt.

Forget instant news wires, though. As she's proved time and time again:
