WE ARE ALIVE!!!

At one point while hastily packing, I thought that life as I knew it was coming to an end!!!

Yes...I was one of the millions evacuating the city of IAH. The weather reports and newscasts were predicting destruction and chaos because of Rita. A NAME I SHALL NEVER EVER LIKE AGAIN.

Amanda-Jayne, Nick and I felt it best to gather our children and drive to the hills of Arkansas as fast as possible. So we packed all of our personals as quickly as possible and tried to get the hell out. We didn't want to be any part of the whole 'NEW ORLEANS' fiasco and we wanted the kids kept safe.

So we tried our best to journey north...but we were trapped, ...like lambs to the slaughter, in gridlocked traffic with a freakin' hurricane at our backs we really felt like there was absolutely no where to go.

Fortunately, Nicks mom has a place in Livingstone, and we were able to make it there. Eleven hours after departing our house, we finally arrived...keep in mind that this trip would normally only take sixty minutes...we were so overjoyed.

Turns out though...we were in the place where R.I.T.A. decided to do some hanging around...we had had enough and split as soon as we could.

We made it back with everyone in tact. Thank God.
