All Fish Go To Heaven

True Story:

"The Destroyer" and his next-door-neighbor buddy decided it would be fun to put various objects into the tiny fish tank that held Gracie's little Beta fish...of course while the fish was still inside of it. I happened to come across both of them "in the act" and quickly made them leave.

So I grabbed the tank and hollered after Grace to go ahead and get it cleaned out quickly so the fish wouldn't be traumatized any longer. So she proceeded to fill up a glass of water, took the Beta out of the tank and stuck him into the glass containing the water. Little did she realize that right before this incident I had being doing the dishes and left the water faucet on the HOT side...so as she put the Beta into the glass, his little insides began to cook!!!

Now, out of the corner of my eye I did see the fish react strangely while he was in the water...there was a lot of jerking and flailing going on...but I didn't really take notice of it. Until Grace said..."OH MY GOD...he's dead".

I said, "Are you sure"?...she said, "Yes...look", she proceeded to stick her hand in the glass, "He's not moving...OH...Daing It...the water's too hot".

My baby started crying so I told her I would get her another one...Boogie chimed in with, "Can I flush him down the toilet"???

Gift Giving Idea #2

Word on the street is..."X-Files 2" The Movie..is in the early stages and supposed to reunite Mulder and Scully. I'm as happy as a little school girl!!! I'm a huge fan...and miss the show TONS. Which brings me to the fact that I only own:

Birthday Wish

I'm trying to think of some really wonderful gifts that my family and friends can buy me for my birthday this year. 35 is cause for Celebration and Gift Giving...LOTS of gifts!!! Here's one gift I'm thinking of that would simply be BRILLIANT!!! A pair of front row tickets to see DuranDuran on their Astronaut tour...here's a glimpse of what your hard earned money would be spent on!!!

Basking Days Away

Another uneventful Saturday Night here in Jakey Land...no "make-believe-gay-boys-in-the-gay-club-having-a-gay-'ole-time" tonight!!! I haven't had one of those in a while...the last one was on Pride Night and I didn't even get to spend that much time in the club...since we arrived so late.

But, all is not a loss...some of you, may or may not know that my birthday is coming up here shortly and so I have traded my Sunday so that I can go out on Saturday night and ring in my 35th the right way...which means, I'll probably be at home with the family watching tv, or each other, or someone else's children!!! Wow...Now How Exciting Could That Possibly Be???!!!

35 is definitely a milestone. At times...it's hard to believe that I am already in my mid 30's..."Thirty-Something"...when it seems like I was just a kid running around the house fearing my dad and being my mom's best friend and loathing my brothers. Where did the time go??? How could that much time have just passed by right under my nose???

On the way home from work the other night...Five For Fighting's song "100 Years" came on...and I just started zoning and thinking about time and my life.

Just 5 years ago for instance...I was in such a different place in my life, both my mother and mother-in-law were alive, my daughter was just 6 years old and my son was only 4 years old and "The Destroyer"...hadn't even been conceived.

And here I am now...5 years older...5 years wiser and I take everything for granted. If I could just turn back time...just 5 years...I'd do so many things different and cherish each moment.

So what do the next 5 years have in store??? Where will my family and I be???...What will we be doing??? My Daughter will be 16, my son will be 14, and "The Destroyer" will be 7!!! Not to mention I will be 40!!! Yikes!!!

Though I admit you are right about the Triumph that was "A Rush Of Blood To The Head"
...I can only assume that "X&Y" will be absolutely fabulous...since at this time, I am a bit destitute I will have to be patient
with my expectations for their latest accomplishment!!! I hear angels rejoicing with this
one.

Let me just say...while laying in bed at night and having Coldplay come alive on the MTV is a pleasant
tickling of the eardrum.

And now my dear fellow...shall we discuss the Absolute Brilliance that is to come with Harry Potter And The
Half Blood Prince. This treasure trove shall not go un-loved...I anxiously await the 1st to feel the

Boogie Board

Amanda-Jayne had this really cool idea for doing up Boogie's room. She wanted something along the lines of a "Surfer-Beach-SurfBoard" theme. So her and Boogie came up with the colour scheme and an idea for a design on the wall. Nick and Boogie did the painting and did a brilliant job!!! Nick is quite the artist. Good on you Bro!!!

Not Joan

I swear that I do not have an OCD personality!!! I'm not a "Joan Crawford"...I like to think of myself as a bit of a "Neat Freak"...if not neat then just "Properly-Put-Away-Freak". I can't explain exactly where this trait comes from...I do remember as a child my mom would like for her house to be clean and kept proper and organized. But even with all her cleanliness ,I don't think she really forced that on me...other than to pick up my room...make my bed...pick up the dirty clothes and such, that was all that was required of me...she always handled the rest.

So growing up, I have always been this way...items have their own designated homes and they need to be in their homes to remain in tact...if not, then bad and nasty things may occur. Scratches or dings may become a permanent scar on their appearance, they may become broken and need mending ( rendering them not as brilliant as they just were two seconds ago...damaged goods)!!!

Over the years I have especially seen to it that my posessions were well taken care of and treated with the utmost respect. I did not want to repurchase an item...there should be no need, if it was handled with care the first time. I very rarely let others borrow my belongings...I always had a gut-feeling that So-and-So would never treat my possessions with love and tenderness. Now there have been occassions when I did give in, with a huge pang in my stomach, and let loose the item for a time being...because I felt I could trust that person...only to never have the item returned or have it returned in a battered and tattered shape. I can promise you...that no one borrows my belongings, if I have anything to do with it.

So I guess this is why I sometimes feel the need for cleanliness...maybe I do take it to the extremes and even get my feelings hurt...but I do need to remember...that it's all material posessions and they can be replaced and the house will always need cleaning as long as my family occupies it...so what the hell...I'll just chill and not stress-out quite so much...what matters most, is that we're happy around each other and enjoy good times together...screw the mess...next time, I'll just hire one of these...

Get on the computer...check: MySpace, Email, Turn on AIM...chat or not...and Blogger

Do the dishes...clean off the counters
Do a load of Laundry
Fix a sandwich
Watch an episode of Wonder Woman
Go to bed

YAY...what fun.

With the exception of picking up my brother from the airport...that was absolutely all I did. 72 hours for all of that...I was busy.
